What turnaround can I expect from the DC DMV?
Normal work in the DC DMV is two to three weeks. Caring Hands hand carries your requests to the DC DMV to ensure that your work is expedited in a timely fashion. Caring Hands can turn your DMV paperwork around in about 48 hours. Note: Turnaround time does not include transit time between Caring Hands and you. We submit your DMV paperwork once received in our office and send out your paperwork the day that we receive it back from the DMV.
What forms of payment does Caring Hands accept for DC DMV work?
Company checks or money orders are accepted by Caring Hands. In most cases, payment for Caring Hands' services are billed to your organization once the work is completed. However, any DC DMV fees or cash layouts needed to complete paperwork at DC DMV is required up front. Checks for DC DMV fees can be made payable to DC TREASURER. Checks for Caring Hands' services must be payable to Caring Hands Services, Inc.
What if I miscalculate DC DMV fees?
- If your check in payment to DC DMV for DMV fees is not exact, DMV will not process the work.
- If your payment is short, you can then send the required additional fees.
You can request Caring Hands to advance a reasonable amount to expedite the work.
- If your payment is over, you can then send a check for the correct amount.
How do I know the amount of the actual DC DMV fees paid on my behalf?
Caring Hands will fax a copy of the original official receipt(s) from the DC DMV to you.
Do I get an official DC DMV Receipt?
Yes you will.

How is completed DC DMV work returned to me?
- New titles are mailed directly to new owners by DC DMV if there is no lien.
- New titles are mailed directly to the lien holder by DC DMV if there is a lien.
- New tags and/or registrations are picked up by Caring Hands and returned to you via whatever
method you choose (i.e., Federal Express, UPS, Airbourne, USPS, etc.).
NOTE: Postage and/or overnight fees are to return completed work is your responsibility.
- Duplicate or repo titles are mailed directly by DC DMV.
What are the most common reasons DC DMV work is rejected?
- Incorrect fees.
- Invalid or incorrect Business Occupancy Permit.
- Delinquent taxes.
- Outstanding parking tickets.
- Expired or missing DC Driver's license or DC ID.
- Purchaser information on application does not match DC driver's license, DC ID or Occupancy Certificate.
- Delinquent child support.
- No proof of insurance for vehicle to be registered.
